A small track skid steer is a compact, multi-functional engineering machine, widely used in construction, landscaping, agriculture, and industrial maintenance. The small track skid steer is equipped with rubber tracks, which have strong traction and low ground pressure, suitable for soft, muddy or uneven terrain, like construction sites and farmland. All YG skid steer loaders adopt a hydraulic drive system and quick-attach design, supporting various attachments, including buckets, forks, and augers, to realize digging, loading, grading, lifting, and other functions. Working Process for the YG Small Track Skid Steer
Step 1: Pre-operation Preparation
- Check the machine’s fuel, hydraulic oil, and coolant levels; ensure there is no leakage.
- For a small track skid steer, check the track tension and wear; for a wheeled mini skid steer, check tire pressure and damage.
- Inspect the quick-attach system and the installed attachment (e.g., bucket) to ensure it is firm and stable.
- Wear safety equipment (helmet, non-slip shoes, gloves) and enter the cab; adjust the seat and control lever for comfortable operation.
Step 2: Start the Machine
- Turn on the ignition, start the engine, and let it idle for 2-3 minutes to warm up the hydraulic system.
- Test the control levers (forward/backward, left/right turn, lift arm, attachment control) to ensure they are flexible and responsive.
- Release the parking brake and get ready to work.
Step 3: Basic Movement & Steering
- Push the left control lever forward to move the left side of the machine forward; push the right lever forward to move the right side forward. Push both levers forward at the same time to move straight ahead; pull both back to reverse.
- To turn: Push one lever forward and the other back to realize zero-radius turning (the biggest advantage of skid steer loaders). Push one lever forward faster than the other to make a slow turn.
Step 4: Operate the Attachment
- Use the dedicated control lever to raise/lower the lift arm and tilt the attachment (e.g., bucket).
- For digging: Lower the bucket to the ground, push the machine forward slowly, then lift the arm to load materials into the bucket.
- For loading/unloading: Drive to the target position, lower the arm, and tilt the bucket to unload materials, then reset the bucket.
Step 5: Complete the Work & Shut Down
- After finishing the work, drive the skid steer to a flat, safe place.
- Lower the lift arm and attachment to the ground; return all control levers to neutral.
- Let the engine idle for 1-2 minutes, then turn off the ignition and remove the key.
- Clean the machine and attachment; remove residual materials to prevent corrosion and blockage.

5 Common Customer Concerns about Buying Small Track Skid Steer
1. Customer Concern: High skid steer track prices with poor durability
Many buyers worry that the rubber tracks of a small track skid steer are easy to wear and that the price is too high, increasing long-term maintenance costs.
YG Benefit: YG offers competitive skid steer track prices (no hidden costs), and our tracks are made of high-quality wear-resistant rubber with reinforced steel cords inside. The service life is 30% longer than ordinary tracks, and we provide affordable replacement tracks, greatly reducing long-term maintenance expenses.
2. Customer Concern: Poor adaptability to complex terrain
Buyers often encounter skid steer loaders that get stuck in soft soil or slip on muddy ground, affecting construction progress.
YG Benefit: YG track loader skid steer has a large ground contact area and low ground pressure, which can easily pass through soft, muddy, and uneven terrain without getting stuck. The wheeled mini skid steer is equipped with anti-slip tires, suitable for hard ground, and we can recommend the right model according to your working environment.
3. Customer Concern: Complex operation and low efficiency
Ordinary skid steer loaders have complex control systems and slow attachment switching speed, leading to low work efficiency.
YG Benefit: YG skid steer loaders adopt ergonomic joystick control, simple and easy to operate—workers can master the skills after 1-2 days of training. The quick-attach system allows attachment switching in only 5 minutes, realizing one-machine multi-purpose use and improving work efficiency by 40%.
4. Customer Concern: High energy consumption and operating costs
Buyers are concerned about the high fuel consumption of skid steer loaders, which increases daily operating costs.
YG Benefit: YG skid steer loaders are equipped with energy-saving engines and optimized hydraulic systems, reducing fuel consumption by 20% compared with ordinary models. The wheeled mini skid steer has a lighter weight and lower energy consumption, making it more suitable for long-term small-scale construction.
5. Customer Concern: Incompatibility with various attachments
Many skid steer loaders can only match a few types of attachments, limiting their use scenarios.
YG Benefit: YG skid steer loaders support a full range of attachments (buckets, forks, augers, rakes, etc.), and the quick-attach system is compatible with most standard attachments on the market. We can also customize attachment interfaces according to your needs, expanding the machine’s application range.

Important Usage Precautions of YG Small Track Skid Steer
- Avoid Overloading: Do not exceed the machine’s rated load (YG models: 300- 1,200 kg) to prevent rollover and damage to the hydraulic system. When lifting materials, keep the load low to the ground; do not lift the load too high while moving.
- Correct Attachment Use: Install attachments firmly according to the operation manual; do not use damaged attachments. When switching attachments, park the machine on a flat surface, turn off the engine, and relieve hydraulic pressure first.
- Regular Maintenance: Check fuel, hydraulic oil, and coolant levels daily; replace hydraulic oil and filter every 500 hours of operation. Clean the machine and attachment after each use; lubricate the moving parts monthly to reduce friction.
- Proper Track/Tire Care: For a small track skid steer, adjust track tension regularly (too tight or too loose will damage the track); clean track debris in a timely manner. For a wheeled mini skid steer, check tire pressure weekly and repair or replace damaged tires in a timely manner. If the machine is not used for a long time, turn off the engine to save energy.
- Operating in Confined Spaces: When working in narrow spaces (e.g., between buildings), operate slowly and pay attention to the surrounding environment to avoid collisions.
- Weather Adaptation: Avoid operating in heavy rain, strong wind, or extremely high/low temperatures for a long time. On rainy days, slow down to prevent slipping; on hot days, check the coolant level frequently.
